As the legal fraternity in Uganda, the Uganda Law Society (ULS), counts days to the the Presidential Elections scheduled for September 10th 2022 at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Entebbe, presidential hopefuls are making the final rounds in convincing voters to favour them for the showdown.
One such candidate that isn’t slowing down towards the finish line is Diana Ninsiima Kibuuka who focused her election on unity among the members to face everything as a whole and has recently focused her campaign on promising collaborations with the rest of the society to advance inititaves of the ULS.
Mrs. Kibuuka, who was recently endorsed by the Executive Director (ED) of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Winnie Byanyima – a rule of law champion in her own right, has come out to emphasize that the ULS needs to focus on collaborations that matter if they are to achieve set goals in rule of law, individual welfare and even such projects as the completion of the ULS house – a multi-billion headquarter construction project.
Speaking on NBS TV’s Breakfast Show today morning, Diana Ninsiima Kibuuka said any leader must network for the people they’re serving to help them achieve their targets because no inward looking strategy has ever succeeded – reiterating her slogan for unity in the ULS (One ULS) for them to be able to achieve.
“I see my role as a leader to be a connector. I must be ontop of things, I must build networks and relationships to get things done, I must be a problem solver.” She said.
Mrs. Kibuuka also addressed people as individuals to always struggle to better themselves and position themselves for success.
“Continously add value to yourself. That way you’ll always be in position to take up any opportunities that come your way. You can never miss on any and that helps your individual growth and the growth of people around you.” She said.
She has in the last days of her campaign emphasized collaborations with bodies such as Parliament of Uganda and other non-legal entities such as Rotary International to advance causes of the Uganda Law Society (ULS) in order to achieve set targets.
Ndorwa East Member of Parliament (MP) and Shadow Attorney General Wilfred Nuwagaba endorsed her candidature yesterday morning prompting a response from DNK as she is fondly known calling upon the law making organ to prepare for collaborations with the ULS to promote rule of law in Uganda.
According to her, collaborations are what will move the ULS forward and enable it to achive most if not all of its set targets in the shortest possible time.
“Rotary has shown what the strength of togetherness can do to effect social change. There are great lessons that we can learn as the Uganda Law Society. I look forward to opportunities for us to learn if elected President.” Mrs Kibuuka posted on her LinkedIn yesterday after the Rotary Cancer Run which she took part in.
She added that being a Leader is putting others first and serving above self. Proud to be a Rotarian.
“I am looking forward to a collaboration between Uganda Law Socity (ULS) and the Rotary Fraternity for the good of humanity” She concluded.

She introduced Business Networks International (BNI) to Uganda, a business network that brings together business organizations for the purpose of growing their networks and finding new business.
She is also a core member of Girls for Girls, an organization centered on mentoring young girls and professionals. She is a member of Rotary.
