The latest information in The Legal Reports newsroom regarding the death of outspoken Court of Appeal/Constitutional Court of Uganda Judge Justice Kenneth Kakuru indicates he will be buried this Saturday, 11th March 2023 at his ancestral home in Rwebishuri, Mbarara, Western Uganda.
According to the Judiciary, His body will be repatriated to Uganda from Nairobi where he died, today, 8th March 2023 at midnight.
A Special Court session will be held in honor of Justice Kenneth Kakuru at the Judiciary Headquarters tomorrow, Thursday, 9th March 2023.
And thereafter, an overnight vigil will be held at his home in Buziga, Kampala.
On Friday, 10th March 2023, a Funeral Service in honor of the late Judge will be held at All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero, Kampala ahead of an Overnight vigil at his home in Rwebishuri.

In a statement, the Director of Public Prosecutions, Jane Frances Abodo eulogized the deceased Justice of the Court of Appeal as a “meticulous, committed and intelligent legal guru who earnestly served as a distinguished advocate and Justice of the Court of Appeal of Uganda.”
“The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions will forever appreciate his insightful contribution to the administration of criminal justice in Uganda. We therefore join the country in mourning the passing of a great legal jurist.”
